Are there different types of Reiki?
Are there different types of Reiki? Yes, I am attuned to three different types of Reiki.
- Usui Reiki
- Karuna Holy Fire Reiki
- Laser Reiki
However, let’s first start by asking what Reiki is. Reiki is a Japanese stress reduction technique that also promotes healing. It was discovered by Mikao Usui in March 1922. Reiki is a very simple yet powerful technique. Techniques such as this have been practiced for thousands of years. Some have called it the “laying on hands”.
What is the meaning of Reiki?
The word Reiki comes from a Japanese kanji. They are ideograms used in the written language of Japan. Many have used this definition of Rei is universal. However, Japanese has many levels of meaning. So although it is true that Rei can mean universal being that it is present everywhere there is a deeper understanding of this kanji. Universal is more meaningful in describing the healing art of Reiki.
The word “Ki” has the same meaning as chi in Chinese, Prana in Sanskrit, and Ti or Ki in Hawaiian; And science calls it biofield energy. Other cultures have given it other names as well.
Ki is life energy. It is also known as the vital life force or universal life energy. This is the life energy that lives within all living things that animate us all. We have life energy circulating through us and surrounding us. All living things do, including our plants and animals. When it dies, the life force energy departs.
How does Ki work?
One can have low forms of life energy, We can have blocks in the flow of our life energy. This can cause one to become more susceptible to illnesses. When the life force energy is high and flowing freely you are less likely to become ill. Life force energy plays an important role in everything we do. Ki is also the primary energy of our emotions, thoughts, and spiritual life. Ki is used by martial arts in their physical training and mental development. It is used in breathing exercises and meditation called pranayama, psychic awareness and manifestation, and healing. Ki is the non-physical energy used by healers. Ki is present all around us. It can be accumulated and guided by the mind. In the 1940s Semyon Kirlian developed a method for photographing the field of energy that surrounds a person. Ki is thought to be the underlying energy of everything that exists.
Your Ki becomes stronger if you have positive healthy thoughts. Ki is influenced by the mind. Negative thoughts can weaken your Ki.
Reiki is a special kind of Ki.
It is Ki that is guided by consciousness. It is defined as spiritually guided life force energy. It is better described as the experience people have of it: Reiki guiding itself with its own wisdom rather than needing a practitioner to direct it.
Do all healers use Reiki energy?
Reiki is a special kind of healing energy that can only be channeled by someone who has received the placement or attunement for it. Some people may be born with it or acquire it in another way, however, most must receive a Reiki attunement or placement or ignition to be able to use Reiki therefore most healers who have not received one of these from a Reiki Master are not channeling Reiki energy however another kind of healing energy.https://holisticenergyspecialist.com/blog/how-can-reiki-help/
